my story

EIGHT YEARS AGO, I COULDN'T DO A SINGLE PUSH-UP. ACTUALLY, I COULD HARDLY CARRY A BASKET OF LAUNDRY UP THE STAIRS WITHOUT FEELING A BIT OUT OF BREATH. 

 

I'D HAD TWO BABIES, THIRTEEN MONTHS APART, AND DEFINITELY DIDN'T HAVE TIME OR ENERGY FOR FITNESS. ONE DAY, WHILE STARING INTO A FULL-LENGTH MIRROR AT THE MALL, I WAS SHOCKED BY WHAT I SAW STARING BACK AT ME. I DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE MYSELF. I WAS EXHAUSTED AND SORE ON THE DAILY. I COULDN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I FELT EVEN SLIGHTLY OK ABOUT MY BODY, LET ALONE WHAT IT FELT LIKE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE IN MY OWN SKIN.

NOTHING FIT AND I COULDN'T FIND CLOTHES I FELT GOOD IN. I NO LONGER WALKED INTO TO A ROOM FEELING CONFIDENT OR HAD THE STRENGTH AND ENERGY TO DO BASIC, EVERYDAY TASKS. I DECIDED IN THAT MOMENT TO OVERHAUL MY LIFESTYLE AND I'VE NEVER LOOKED BACK. 

 

BY COMMITTING MYSELF TO SMALL CHANGES, INCLUDING 20 MINUTE AT-HOME WORKOUTS, I LOST 80 LBS, FELL IN LOVE WITH FITNESS, AND WATCHED THE NEW LIFESTYLE I HAD FORMED CHANGE MY ENTIRE LIFE. 

 

ALONG THE WAY, I DISCOVERED HOW IMPORTANT MAKING CHANGES OUT OF SELF-LOVE AND SELF-CARE ARE FOR YOUR PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING. I FIGURED OUT THAT MODERATE, SMALL CHANGES ARE THE ABSOLUTE KEY TO REACHING AND SUSTAINING YOUR GOALS, WITHOUT MAKING YOU CRAZY IN THE PROCESS.

 

I LEARNED HOW TO MAKE THE HABIT OF FITNESS HAPPEN DESPITE THE BUSIEST SCHEDULE.

 

I SAID GOODBYE TO DISORDERED EATING, FOOD-SHAMING, AND DIETS FOR GOOD AND HELLO TO LOVING FOOD - YES, ALL OF IT - AGAIN.

 

I BATTLED WITH ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION AND AM PROUD TO SHARE MY STORY TO HELP OTHERS. I HEALED MY SEVERE DIASTASIS RECTI. THE EMOTIONAL AND DIFFICULT JOURNEY TO STRENGTHENING AND RETURNING FUNCTION TO MY CORE LED ME TO BECOME A FIRM ADVOCATE OF ARMING WITH EDUCATION SURROUNDING CORE AND PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE INFORMED DECISIONS REGARDING THEIR TRAINING DURING AND AFTER PREGNANCY.

I NOW EMPOWER WOMEN TO GET RESULTS IN EVERY STAGE BY MAKING SMALL, SUSTAINABLE CHANGES, DITCHING THEIR DIETS AND ALL-OR-NOTHING MINDSETS, AND BUILDING THE MODERATE HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THAT WORKS FOR THEM.
