If you're having trouble getting moving today, here are some tips to start your week out strong:
1. Pick the exercise out of your workout that is your favourite / feels the least like torture. Do that one. By the time you're done, you may just want to keep going. 2. Just start! Sometimes if I have to think about wrestling with my sports bra, I just can't even. If I'm exercising at home, I'll start working out in jeans. Once I start getting warm, I'll go and change...maybe. Or I'll just lose a few layers. The point is, eliminate all the barriers you're putting into your mind and don't let them be excuses.
3. Text someone and tell them you're going to work out. Get then to check in with you later that day to hold you accountable. Maybe invade their house or kidnap them and make them workout with you!
4. Get outside or go for a walk. Sometimes the fresh air gives you enough energy to make you feel like doing your workout. Sometimes the walk IS the workout.
5. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Cofffeeeeee. Perk yourself UP.
Remember that you can have the perfect program or plan but, if you don't actually do any of it, it doesn't matter. Forget perfect. Pick one little thing that will honour your body, make you feel good, and move you towards your goals. Add in a couple handfuls of veggies to one meal. Take the stairs or park at the far end of the parking lot. Drink water with your meals today. Pick something achievable and do it! I always tell my clients that there is no wagon to be off of (that is all-or-nothing thinking that is bad news.) There are only our small choices adding up every day. .
You don't have to do it perfectly, friend. You just need to keep going.
