WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU ACTUALLY FELT LIKE YOU HAD A SUMMER?

WHEN YOU THINK OF YOUR SUMMER, WHAT DO YOU PICTURE?

 

YOUR KIDS RUNNING AND PLAYING.

WALKING, BIKING, HIKING, AND GETTING OUT IN NATURE.

CAMPING, LIFTING AND SETTING UP GEAR.

CARRYING AN OVER-TIRED, THRASHING TODDLER OUT OF THE ZOO.

GOING SWIMMING AS A FAMILY.

LONG ROAD TRIPS AND LATE NIGHTS.

KIDS HOME FROM SCHOOL ALL DAY LONG, WITH ENERGY THAT NEVER SEEMS TO END.

 

YUP, I'VE BEEN THERE.

I USED TO SPEND MY SUMMERS ON THE SIDELINES.

 

ON THE BENCH, SIGHING AT THE PARK, WISHING I HAD THE ENERGY TO KEEP UP. CRINGING WHEN THE KIDS WANTED ME TO HOP ON THE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT. FEELING CLUNKY AND AWKWARD AND TIRED. SO, SO TIRED.

I REMEMBER HOW HEAVY THOSE BIG WATER JUGS FELT ON CAMPING TRIPS AND WISHING THE SET-UP DIDN'T FEEL SO HARD.

 

​I'LL NEVER FORGET HOW FRUSTRATED I WOULD FEEL, ATTENDING BBQS OR WEDDINGS. I FELT SO UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY OWN SKIN. I MISSED FEELING CONFIDENT OR ENJOYING GETTING DRESSED UP.

I USED TO HAVE MY BACK AND ARMS SCREAM AT ME WHILE CARRYING MY TODDLER ON LONG WALKS OR HIKES. 

I WOULD END UP FEELING RUNDOWN, DISAPPOINTED, AND CRANKY AS HELL, COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL BACK TO SCHOOL.

UNTIL I REALIZED....

SUMMER WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE THIS HARD.

I COULD TAKE SMALL, REALISTIC STEPS AND FEEL CONFIDENT, STRONG, AND CAPABLE. 

I DON'T EVER WANT TO LET ANOTHER SUMMER GO BY, WISHING AND WATCHING.

I WANT BETTER FOR YOU TOO.

I'D HAD TWO BABIES, THIRTEEN MONTHS APART, AND DEFINITELY DIDN'T HAVE TIME OR ENERGY FOR FITNESS.

YOU WILL NEED DUMBBELLS AND A MEDIUM RESISTANCE BAND. A MAT AND MINI BANDS ARE HELPFUL BUT CAN BE SUBSTITUTED.

HOW DOES THE GRAND PRIZE DRAW WORK?

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE GRAND PRIZE, YOU WILL EARN POINTS THROUGH YOUR BINGO CARD AND CHECK-IN ON THE FACEBOOK GROUP'S ACCOUNTABILITY THREADS.

HOW LONG ARE THE WORKOUTS?

THE WORKOUTS WILL ALL BE AROUND 20 MINUTES OR LESS. THEY ARE MEANT FOR BUSY WOMEN WITH REAL LIVES!

ARE THESE WORKOUTS SAFE FOR PRE AND POSTNATAL WOMEN?

YES! EDUCATION AND MODIFICATIONS WILL BE GIVEN TO MAKE THESE WORKOUTS ACCESSIBLE AND SAFE FOR PRE AND POSTNATAL WOMEN. YOU SHOULD BE CLEARED BY YOUR DOCTOR FOR EXERCISE AND, IF POSTPARTUM, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BEING ASSESSED BY A PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST AS WELL.
